APR 22: Welcome to Amsterdam & embark the riverboat
- 12:45PM: Tour Anne Frank House (not Tauck)
- 2PM: Transfer from Sofitel to Riverboat
- 4PM: Tour begins with Welcome cocktail reception followed by dinner.
APR 23: Tour Amsterdam, Keukenhof, & Rijksmuseum
- After
breakfast: Excursion to Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse
- Lunch on riverboat
- After lunch: Boat cruise through network of centuries-old canals at the core of the old city
- Visit Rijksmuseum with a local guide
- Evening: Cocktail hour followed by gala dinner
APR 24: Dordrecht and the windmills of Kinderdijk
- Arrive in
Dordrecht for a walking tour
- Lunch aboard the
riverboat;
- Travel to Kinderdijk to see 19
original 18th-century windmills – preserved today as a UNESCO World
Heritage Site
- Dinner onboard
- Evening with some local entertainment.
APR 25: Flemish treasures with a choice of Bruges or Ghent
- Cruise pass through Belgium along the Albert Canal and into
Zeeland
- Arrive midday in Terneuzen
- Choice
of afternoon excursions: visit to the historic city of Ghent for an old
town walking tour of town center, climb to the top of
the 14th-century belfry for a view of castles, churches, and historic
merchants’ houses. Or walking tour of Bruges for its canals and tiny
medieval
streets. Hike up the stairs of the medieval belltower for panoramic
views.
- Dinner aboard
- Performance of a classical music group.
APR 26: Maastricht, Château Neercanne and World War II memorials
- Arrive in
Maastricht for walking tour of the Old Town, including remains of the city’s
medieval fortifications and Helpoort
- Visit the Museum aan
het Vrijthof in Vrijthof Square
- Lunch
in the Roman grottoes of the 17th-century Château Neercanne
- After lunch depart for
Margraten to visit the Netherlands American Cemetery.
APR 27: Antwerp and the Age of Exploration
- Orientation tour of the
city and a guided walk through the historic center: Grote Markt, City Hall; the Cathedral of Our Lady; and
numerous restored merchants’ houses.
- Visit the Red Star Line Museum
- Lunch onboard
- Afternoon - free time in town.
- Late Afternoon - leave for the Netherlands
APR 28: Antwerp
- Visit brewery
- Free Day
- Dinner on the ship or spend free time in Antwerp.
APR 29: ADD DAY IN AMSTERDAM (FYI: Gift of Time)
APR 30: Disembark for your journey home
- End of river cruise in Amsterdam.
After disembarking and bidding your Captain and crew adieu this
morning, a transfer is included from the riverboat to Amsterdam's
Schiphol Airport or Centraal Train Station. Fly home anytime; allow 3
hours for departure flight check-in.
